PMC Announces Two New Properties in Baltimore

Baltimore, MD — PMC Property Group is expanding its property portfolio in the Baltimore area with the addition of two new residential buildings.

The first is located at 521-545 St. Paul Street in the Mount Vernon neighborhood. The property currently consists of two brick structures: a late 19th century dairy building to the south and a circa-1947 Moderne building to the north that have been connected by an enclosed glass entrance. PMC's plans include the construction of a two-story addition and conversion of the spaces into 70 luxury apartments.

When construction is complete on this project ― expected by Summer 2013 ― 521-545 St. Paul will offer 70 luxury apartments, including both one- and two-bedroom units, and it will blend seamlessly with the rich architectural styles of the surrounding historic district's mansions, townhouses, offices and commercial spaces, not far from The University of Baltimore, Penn Station, and The Walters Art Museum.

The second property is a newly acquired 95,000-square-foot office building at 301 N. Charles Street. The 11-story Art Deco-style building is clad in limestone and tan brick with granite, marble, and metal detailing. Built in 1930, this property served for more than two decades as the headquarters for The Baltimore Life Insurance Company, then housed a variety of tenants through the early 2000s, before being acquired by PMC earlier this month.

The building will be extensively renovated and converted into 92 luxury apartments, with an additional 5,000 square feet of retail space on the street level. Occupancy is expected by Fall 2013.

Steven Bloom, operating partner for PMC Property Group in Baltimore, says these are positive developments for the company and the communities it serves. “We are excited about these opportunities,” Bloom explains. “These are great buildings in great neighborhoods going through positive redevelopment.”
